ISC2 CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional Official Study Guide 8e CISSP Official ISC2 Practice Tests 2e 9781119523260 Computer Science Books Reviews

  • Any one preparing for the revised CISSP exam should get the (ISC)2 CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional Official Study Guide 8e, and the CISSP Official (ISC)2 Practice Tests 2e because these texts are the official texts and are tailor-made for the revised CISSP exam.
I highly recommend (ISC)2 CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional Official Study Guide, 8e & CISSP Official (ISC)2 Practice Tests, 2e for these reasons
    (1) You’ll be 100% sure that you’re covering all the topics, even the new ones like Internet of Things and Attribute-Based Access Control.

    (i) Chapter 3, Question #101 Internet of Things (IoT) devices
(ii) Chapter 11, Question # 56 Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC)
(iii) Chapter 12, Question # 46 Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC)

    (2) You’ll not be wasting your time studying topics that are not on the exam such as
    (a) Six Sigma
    (b) CRAMM
    (c) These are covered on the “CISSP Cert Guide (3rd Edition) (Certification Guide) 3rd Edition; Publisher Pearson IT Certification; 3 edition (September 22, 2018)”

    (3) These are the texts you need for the revised CISSP unless you have time to waste on materials not on the exam.
  • The study guide is fairly comprehensive and covers every aspect of the test. Both the study guide and the practice test book come with electronic tests and flashcards. Some questions are shared between both but they rarely overlap. The practice tests and question were as near identical to the test version I took as possible without being dumps, meaning it very accurately reflects the test material. I used these two books alone to pass the test on my first attempt easily with about 20 days of consistent studying for about 1-2 hours every day. Given the results I would recommend the study guide and practice test set and feel it is very easily worth the price and should likely be the only study material required.
  • The study guide is a lot of material but it is presented well. It is worth reading if you are studying for CISSP.

I only gave it 4 stars due to the practice tests book. There are a number of questions that have errors or are incorrect. In some cases it seems like they just reordered the answers as the letter is wrong but the explanation is correct (and referring to a different letter) but in a few other cases they are wrong. Overall still a good resource but it could use some cleanup by a good technical editor.
  • This is an accurate representation of the test material and question style for the 2018 exam.
  • March 25 2019 - today I passed the CISSP exam using Mike’s official (ISC)2 study guide and practice test. I also used his high quality video training series at certmike.com. In addition I used Kelly Handerhan video sessions, CISSP Sunflower PDF, 20+ years of Information Security / Network experience and Shon Harris 8th edition for occasional reference. After 3 months of continuous studying and reading Mike’s study guide cover to cover, I’m glad this accomplishment is realized. Wasn’t easy, definitely worthwhile.
  • If they only sold motivation on . Then I'd be set. Someday soon I hope to have read through the material.
  • Hi, I just only want to recommend this book for your CISSP certification. Nice explanation of security concepts you need to know and understand for taking the exam. Really good, ease to read and understand.
  • Excellent book
