Your Thoughts are Killing You Take Control of Your Mind and Close the Door to Depression Anxiety and Those Fearful Worrisome Thoughts Forever Marybeth Wuenschel 9781733668101 Books Reviews
- This book has such a strong message of empowerment--highlighting how our choices can affect how we feel. The book teaches how recognizing the difference between actual character traits and being stuck in a stronghold is critical.
The author does an admirable job of incorporating a perfect mix of faith-based and science-based knowledge. I really appreciate the depth and clarity that comes from using scriptures to help overcome challenges.
One of my favorite quotes from the book was "We are over-comers and perfectly equipped to gain freedom from oppression, depression, suppression, repression, and every other “...pression†you can think of. "
I recommend this book to anybody who struggles with (or has loved ones who struggle with) negativity, depression, or anxiety. - This book is a very enjoyable read filled with biblical truths & practical tools to empower us to overcome/change our negative thoughts & attitude. Thoughts & words are extremely powerful!
It's a must read for anyone who is depressed or just finds themselves thinking/uttering negative thoughts. Marybeth shows us how we can overcome negativity no matter how long we've entertained,or how firmly seated are, these damaging thoughts.
An especially powerful read if you, or someone you know, is ill or hospitalized. This book helped me through a very difficult time recently when my son spent several days in the hospital ICU. He was sedated & on the ventilator when the neurologist said to me one morning, "Your son is very ill. We don't know how far we'll be able to bring him back, so you may have a decision to make". Naturally I was devastated & started thinking dark thoughts. Then I snapped out of it, remembering & applying some of what I had learned from the book. I said to myself & aloud to others, "No, I refuse to accept that. My son is strong, he's a fighter, & he has the Lord on his side". I could have stayed in a negative thought pattern & just cried over my son, but instead I chose to think positive thoughts, thanking the Lord for total healing & His peace. I spoke healing words over my son, telling him that Jesus had healed him...by His stripes he was healed! Then I repeatedly told my son what he was going to be able to do when he woke up...all his favorite things like "tubby bathing", taking walks, & eating yogurt. My faith was strong & peace overcame me. Praise God, a few days later I had my son back, fully recovered! This is only one of many ways this book can help you.
I will definitely be referring back to this book again & again not only during difficult times, but also to prevent myself from slipping backwards for any length of time.
Read this book, you won't be disappointed! - Today we are living in very uncertain times and many of us suffer from depression, anxiety about our future, negative thoughts, and sadness. I know first-hand, because I have been known to focus on problems and worry. Last night I read Marybeth Wuenschel’s book, Your Thoughts are Killing You and I realized that these worries are just thoughts in my head. Marybeth shares that our minds can take us down a negative path where we never intended to explore. We are taught to just “let it go.†She tells us that when it comes to our minds we need to guard and defend against these thoughts. We are in control! We must not give in to every dark thought. I am a Catholic and during this season of Lent, this book is very special. to me-for it is a time of reflection. Marybeth’s heart is to minister to her Catholic family the healing desire of God. God wants to heal us and deliver us from evil. Marybeth is sharing her thirty years ministering full time the Catholic Church. She leads amazing Prayer Groups and bible Study. She is a true teacher of the Word of God.
- This book will help many people who are trapped by their past disappointments, toxic thoughts and emotions. This book shows you how to focus your mind on positives and drop old resentments and anger that are only hurting you and holding you back. It is possible to overcome past hurts and become a happy, productive, loving individual with God's help and practicing these principles. I was quite impressed with the author's clear message, organization and Biblical knowledge.
- An IN YOUR FACE, no-nonsense message about taking God at His Word! The author stresses the importance of knowing and trusting Jesus Christ to save us from sin and give us what is needed to overcome strongholds. I was encouraged by the overall message and believe the tools provided in the book to be a helpful resource for the Christian journey. As with all faith-based writing, it's important to recognize that even with supporting Scripture, there is room for interpretation. A good companion to read along with your Bible.
- As a Christian, I believe we fall short in understanding the true acceptance and love that is not only a gift but a FREE gift at that. Because we live in an impure world full of doubt and ridicule, it’s good to come back to center and remind ourselves of the love our God freely gives us. Marybeth’s writing does just that.
Whether you’re a seasoned Christian or just beginning your walk, this book is a reassuring comfort to us all to pick ourselves up and keep going in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because He loves us unconditionally.
Thank you Marybeth for keeping us focused! - I found Your thoughts Are Killing You to be a very inspiring book filled with so many examples of how not to allow your negative thoughts to control your life and the way you handle problems. If you take control of your mind you can change the way you look at life and deal with challenges that may come your way. Marybeth gives numerous examples from The Bible that help explain why we may be feeling certain ways or how to deal with negative thoughts we may be experiencing. I highly encourage you to explore her book which I thoroughly enjoyed.
