A Lover Vow The Grangers Brenda Jackson Books Reviews
- What a fantastic ending to this wonderful trilogy by author Brenda Jackson. This book tied up all the loose ends from the previous two books, mainly who killed Sylvia Granger and if Sheppard Granger murdered her. Well, I tell you that it all comes to a shocking revelation that you would not believe. This book was very entertaining with a lot of witty dialogue from Dalton with other characters as well as his love-hate relationship with Jules. Once you start this book you will not want to put it down.
Remember this series started with a promise from Jace, Caden and Dalton to their a dying grandfather to save the family business, Granger Aeronautics and get their father out of jail. Their father was in jail for 15 years for the murder of their mother Sylvia Granger.
With all of the curiosity around who murdered Sylvia Granger, you also have sensual undertones, charismatic men, intelligent characters and a well thought out mystery being uncovered. Even if you thought you had figured it all out by the end of book two, A Man's Promise, think again, it's not what you think. My advice is to simply enjoy this story as it unfolds and not try to figure out who did it along the way because you will miss all the beauty, laughter, and drama happening between all the characters. Everyone in this book held the spot light at some point in the story, but of course DALTON light shined so much brighter. He is a very complex character that you will enjoy getting to know. Let's not forget Jules Bradford, the sexy P.I., who is on the prowl to uncover the truth about what really happened at Granger Aeronautics and how it all ties to Sheppard Granger. Can she get to the bottom of it all with Dalton on her tail too? Read...and enjoy all of the revelations. No spoilers here, but I will tell you this, the book is HOTTTTTTT and very entertaining.
Although this book was part of a trilogy, I believe you can pick this book and read it as a stand alone because Mrs. Jackson gives very good flash backs and updates of the characters and situations. However, to really enjoy the series, you want to start from the beginning with "A Brother's Honor" then "A Man's Promise".
Awesome job Mrs. Jackson for writing such an amazing story line with great characters. Although this series had ended, I know these characters will pop up in another series she starts down the line. Can you say “The Protector†series? Hey, Striker, Stonewall and Quasar!! - After reading the long awaited novel that vowed to expose the killer of Sylvia Granger, mother to Jace, Cade & Dalton, I must say that it did not disappoint. The prolific Brenda Jackson gives us a whopper of a novel to end the mystery of who killed Sylvia and to end the series of the Granger brothers.
Let me say that inspite of the clues Mrs. Jackson laid out in the previous two novels, I was still W A Y off in my guess at who killed Sylvia, and W A Y, W A Y off as to the reason she was killed. I won't spoil it for any one who has not read this novel, but I have a feeling that you will be shocked too!
The hero, Dalton Granger and the heroine Jules Bradford can certainly be nominated for the hottest couple in Romance novels. The chemistry between them is sizzling. Of the three brothers, I pick Dalton as my favorite.
This is a must read series if you are a true follower of Brenda Jackson. Her writing skills are on point in this last story of the Granger Trilogy. It's a good possibility that she will piggyback on this Granger series and write about some of the interesting side characters that are introduced. (Hint- the men hired by Sheppard Granger to guard his sons.)
Pick up a copy of A Lover's Vow. I vow that you will not be disappointed. - I can truly say that this book was well worth the wait. I loved how Brenda Jackson weaved us through the romance and the danger. She knew just the right amount needed for each book. This is the 3rd book in the Granger Series and brings everything home. The romance is the love/hate relationship between Dalton & Jules. As much as they hate each other they are also drawn to each other. Both of them are working on sheer determination. Dalton to get Jules in his bed and Jules to find out who is responsible for the death of Sylvia Granger. The ride with these two will be nothing short of intense. And the twist and turns that reveal the killer will have you on pins & needles. Take a minute and step into the Granger World.
- I enjoyed the first book in this series and one of the reasons I kept going with the series was because (1) 1st book was interesting, (2) I’m a big fan of Jackson, and (3) I wanted to know who dunnit. Sadly to say this book dragged on and on and on…oy! Yes I get it we need to see the process, the build of the relationship between Dalton & Jules among others, the investigation into Sylvia's murder, but men the book kept going and going and it’s like right after she’s written 400+ pages she decides she’s gotta tell y’all what happened and so the end is rushed through and the book is over. At the end in barely 5 pages, you find out who dunnit including how the case was broken and those involved, the progression of some of the r/ships and the decisions they are making.
There’s no doubt there was an interesting story here and I couldn’t have guessed the direction she went with the reason for the murder, those who were involved and their roles in the crimes. I do wish that she’d spread out the story and made it entertaining throughout without the drag. I don’t mind finding out the ending right at the end, but there were so many r/ships affected by what happened, but there wasn’t enough time to tell how things turned out. After reading this I was left asking what about this family, what about this or that……well sadly no answers.
Would I read this again – unfortunately no; would I recommend – sadly not!
