- Recently I ran into someone I didn’t recognize because he had lost 95 lbs. He looked 15 years younger and told me that he lost the weight on the Ketogenic diet. He raved about it saying that he never felt hungry and never felt like he was missing something he couldn’t eat. He said he was pigging out in lobster with butter. Cheese. Bacon. Steak. Eggs. I was thoroughly impressed and bought this book to find out more.
I highly recommend this book for several reasons. Easy to read. Not too technical. As an older person, I also liked the larger font, lol. I really liked how they presented the information and gave you week to week meal plans, including yummy snacks. The back end of the book included very organized shopping lists according to each week. It listed dairy, produce, meat, and gave you a list of pantry staples to have on hand. I was impressed with the recipes too. They all sound so yummy and are not complex at all. For snacks, you get Fat Bombs to make sure that you are getting enough fat in your diet! Crazy, right? I can’t wait to make the chocolate chip cookie dough fat bombs.
This is a diet I think I can stick to. The book taught me that instead of burning carbs for fuel, by starving my body of carbs, it starts to burn fat for fuel.
I’m really excited to get started tomorrow, Monday, the start of a new week and a new me! - I recently purchased this cookbook to jump start my keto diet and give me fresh meal ideas! This cookbook does not disappoint. The first several chapters really break down all the details about a ketogenic diet and provide a clear picture of why it works and how to get started. I have been doing a ketogenic diet off and on for the past few years to help with symptoms I get from an autoimmune disorder. I feel my best on this diet!
Back to the book, I love how easy the recipes are and that the ingredients are easy to find items at a local grocer or natural foods store. I have a few food allergies and it looks like I can easy substitute where I need too. Yay! I am really excited to try the Gyro Salad with Avocado Tzatziki. I have been craving Gyros since I went gluten free, and this sounds amazing!!!! The breakfast recipes have all be delish so far and I’m excited to dive further into this cookbook! Thank you! - Great starter book for those interested in trying out the Keto. So we all heard the craze about this new diet, however, the information I found was pretty intimidating. This book was really good at explaining what Keto actually is. The recipes are super simple and you probably already have the ingredients in your pantry. Definitely recommended for newbies looking into the Keto diet.
- Mr. Wilson's Ketogenic Diet is very easy to read. Books like this can tend to be boring. His approach is much more relatable. He's an 'everyman' who documents his personal struggles with weight gain and loss and shares with us what worked for him.
A helpful tome of information on a diet that is still somewhat controversial. I was a curious reader and am planning to use this book to apply to my own weight loss journey and see how it works for me.
The book also has helpful indexes with a three week shopping lost and detailed caloric values and links to recipes that don't seem too out there to make.
Highly recommended! - Excellent book for beginners who want to start the ketogenic way of eating and also a good book for who are already keto but need some new recipes. The book was full of good information explaining the science behind the ketogenic way of eating compared to other diets. The few recipes I tried were easy to make and very good. I really enjoyed the Creamy Cauliflower soup recipe. I was suprised how filling it was almost like potato soup without all the guilts. I recommended this book to my sister and she is currently reading it. Thank you.

- This is great for beginners! There's a lot of time spent explaining the difference between the keto diet and other types of well known diets out there like Paleo, Atkins, Mediterranean, etc. What I love the most is the 4 week meal plan with recipes and it includes foods like biscuits and waffles so you won't feel deprived at all on keto and with this meal plan. The meal plans do have a slightly bigger carb count than I personally follow though, as I try to keep to 20g or less of net carbs and these recipes with this meal plan are in the 25-30g net carb range for each day. It's still keto but I have to pick and choose and change up the meal plan slightly for myself. It's an excellent way to learn about the keto lifestyle though and if you just need an easy way to start, this is it!
- This book is fantastic. I really enjoyed reading this as I start my journey with the keto diet. I’m a reader and it was super easy for me to learn all about this way of eating through this book. Lots of good information and it’s easy to understand which I think is very important! I will pass this title along to my friends interesting in the trending keto diet.
