The Holiday House Sitter Judy Moore 9781539575801 Books Reviews

  • Who can resist puppy dogs and Christmas?

Author Judy Moore presents readers with that winning combination in her sweet holiday romance titled, “The Holiday House Sitter.”

Molly McAlister is at her wit’s end, not from the stress of the holidays but from the unexpected pet sitting duties she is charged with. Those nasty Rottweilers promise to ruin Christmas Day. But, just like every little girl likely imagines, the boy-next-door comes to her rescue. He’s cute, funny and the answer to her lonely heart.

“The Holiday House Sitter” is a quick, lighthearted read perfect for the busy holiday season.
  • Molly McAlister must be the unluckiest person in town. Her boss bullies her into house sitting over the Christmas holiday with the treat of layoffs. When she arrives at the boss's home she is informed she has to walk two ill tempered Rottweilers as well and the boss's two poodles. She is terrified of the Rottweilers but meets the next door neighbor boy home from college. The neighbors are in a feud with Molly's boss and things get very hairy.
  • My second story by this author. Another clean, quick read. An overbearing, demanding boss, forced pet sitting duties, a budding romance, lots of dogs and an elusive cat.
  • The characters were fun to watch--with very clear lines between protagonists and antagonists. This is a quick read that readers of this genre will enjoy.
  • If I were Molly's (the main character) mother, I would take out a contract on her boss. First, the boss semi-blackmails her into missing Christmas with her family because he wants her to house and dog sit over the holidays Then, he volunteers her services to others (mean, thoughtless others). It looks bleak, but Molly is plucky and creative.
  • Many of us can relate to a part of this story...a horrible boss, bad neighbors, an episode with a mean dog, baby or dog sitting, letting ourselves get a bit overextended, finding a sweetheart guy when not looking for one. Fun read; especially for dog lovers!
  • I HAVE NEVER READ ANYTHING BY JUDY MOORE AND I AM SO GLAD I DID. I REALLY LOVED AND ENJOYED THE HOLIDAY HOUSE SITTER. IT IS THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS READ. I LOVED THE CHARACTERS THE STORY FELT SO REAL AND THE CHARACTERS WERE SO FUNNY AND ENTERTAINING. I LOVE MOLLY WHO GOES OUT OF THE WAY TO PLEASE HER BOSS BY DOG SITTING AT CHRISTMAS. HE IS BLACKMAILING HER BY PUTTING HER JOB ON THE LINE. MOLLY IS GOING TO MISS CHRISTMAS WITH HER FAMILY BECAUSE OF HIM. AND TO TOP IT OFF, HE VOLUNTEERS HER FOR OTHER JOBS. HE IS A REAL JERK.

MOLLY REALLY LOVES ANIMALS AND HER JOB BUT DIDN'T COUNT ON WATCHING TWO ILL-TEMPERED ROTTWEILERS. I DON'T BLAME HER FOR BEING SCARED AT ALL. I WOULD HAVE REFUSED REGARDLESS IF I WAS GOING TO LOSE MY JOB. THE DOG SITTING LEADS HER TO MEETING THE BOY NEXT DOOR AND HIS FAMILY. WILL MOLLY FIND ROMANCE? WILL SHE HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AFTER ALL?

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN ENTERTAINING AND FUN CHRISTMAS READ, I RECOMMEND YOU READ THE HOLIDAY HOUSE SITTER. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO READING MORE BOOKS BY JUDY MOORE. I LOVE HER WRITING.
  • The more books of Judy Moore's I read the more I like her writing. She is a natural story teller. The Holiday House Sitter is a sweet easy read, with lovely characters, especially Molly, who is a shining example for all 'coming of age' youngsters. she does not shirk her duties, even though her boss takes advantage of her work ethics and treats her like a personal slave. Molly meets the boy next door and as a reader you automatically think, this is going to be a romance story. But Ms Moore, does not let the romance take over, she allows the reader the privilege of seeing the friendship blossom, but the story sits fair and square in Molly's court as the Holiday House Sitter. Another nice little story from Judy Moore.
