Financially Chic Live a luxurious life on a budget learn to love managing money and grow your wealth Fiona Ferris 9781539076544 Books Reviews
- I only bought this book because I enjoyed 2 others books from the author ( How to be chic in the winter and Chic inspiration). Finance does not fascinate me, but this book looks at more things than drawing up a budget. It questions our beliefs aroud money, suggests alternative and creative ways to handle everyday money matters. I enjoyed it! The financially savvy might not find a lot of new info, but for the non- initiated this book might prove useful in surprising ways.
- I purchased his book mainly on the strength of having read the author's book "30 Chic Days", which I love, and which contained a small chapter on financial advice, so I was curious how she'd expanded on the topic enough for a whole book (albeit a short one). Please understand the author is NOT a financial professional, though she has tangential experience working in the field. Rather, she is suggesting not only concrete ideas to change your approach to money and how you handle it, but also a new way of thinking about money from a philosophical standpoint, all within the chic realm she tries to live her own life. She never purports to be an expert, she just gives advice based on her own experiences and that she has gleaned from acquaintances. I like her no-nonsense approach and found much of the advice very useful, though not what I'd term "revolutionary". Like her other books, this is a real-world guide to reworking your approach to your life (and money) in such a way that it supports your version of a chic life.
- Easy to read and understand. Can totally relate to her ideas, and inspiration. Going to implement her 100 ideas! Best financially book I read, made great sense and didn't make me feel bad, it empowered me to be better. I can do this!!
- I enjoyed this book immensely. Reading it feels as though you're listening to a dear friend describe her road map to abundance now and in the future. And she knows what she's talking about. I've got so many ideas from her book to think about and put into place and I have no doubt I'll expand my already happy life too. Another book very well done Fiona! I look forward to your future efforts.
- I love Fiona Ferris' books. This one is fun and has great tips for living a quality life. I think I would have liked more specific examples and how to. The final chapter has a list of amazing ideas! I would like to see those ideas expanded on. For example, if you say increase savings by 10% each month, I want to know exactly how. Where do I find that extra 10%? Or with grocery options, I would have loved specific low cost recipes and/or a list of goods that can typically be purchased inexpensively and used to make great meals. I think overall I wanted more specific examples. However, I still feel inspired to clean out and improve my home.
- More good inspiration for controlling your finances to promote the life you want. Don’t look here for hard facts of personal finance & investing, the author doesn’t pretend to be a professional adviser. It’s like a pep talk from a peer who has your interests at heart.
- I enjoyed this book so much that I'm getting more copies to send to friends. And a lot of useful information
- No earth shattering information here. Just basic common sense.
